Andala Rakshashi, which was her debut film kept fetching her new offers among which she chose to work in LOL (Lacchindeviki O Lekkundi), Bhale Bhale and Soggade. At the moment she is busy promoting her films Soggade and LOL. In LOL, Lavanya has taken on the challenging task of playing roles of three different women: Ankalamma, Devi and Umadevi.
Her role in Soggade earned her a lot of praise too. However she admitted that she was blown away by the performances of her costars Nagarjuna and Ramya Krishnan and had to work hard to match their level and commitment towards the project. Lavanya has done roles of traditional women so far and has been encouraged by many to take up roles that portray women in a very urban and even western fashion. However she made it clear that will she will only take up such a role if the script is worth it and not just for the sake of such roles.  Lachhimdeviki O Lekkundi Actress Lavanya
From the hills to Andhra
Lavanya hails from Dehradun and wanted to pursue a modeling career since she won the award of Miss Uttarakhand when she was still studying in school back in 2006. Fortunately for her, the path wasn’t as difficult as it is for many aspiring models and actors as her parents were highly supportive of her decision. However, they wanted her to finish her education first. She also wanted to take up acting. Her luck took a turn in the right direction when a television crew visited her hometown Dehradun for shooting. She managed to bag a role and this opened the door to a whole new world of exciting opportunities for her. She moved to Mumbai and started working in a television serial that provided her the necessary experience and lessons. She also acted in a Malayalam commercial. While speaking of her career and her journey so far, she mentioned that she never had any back up plan and all she ever wanted was to join the entertainment and fashion industry. Well, as they say, when there’s a will there’s a way.
