The Maestro composing songs for Kathalo Rajakumari


It is reported that for Kathalo Rajakumari, Nara Rohith’s next project, legendary music composer Ilayaraja has been recording songs. Reports say that the recordings were done in Chennai and as many as three songs have already been recorded by the iconic composer. The lyrics for the songs have been written by Ramajogayya Sastry, a renowned lyricist. The film is produced by Venkat Srinivas Boggaram, who also gave us Nikhil’s film Karthikeya has stated that Kathalo Rajakumari is an entirely different kind of film with a different script. The film is a romantic drama where Namitha Pramod and Nara Rohith play the lead roles. The producer also stated that Nara Rohith’s characterization in the film is different to quite an extent and will be a major talking point in the film. A brief look back to a legendary career
Ilaiyaraja is known for his extensive work in South Indian films. He is not only a legendary music composer but also a songwriter and singer and instrumentalist. Since the start of his career way back in the 1970s, he has contributed with more than five thousand recorded songs, an incredible feat. He is not only perhaps the only music composer to have composed music in more than one thousand films but also one of the only two Indians along with the late Ravi Shankar to compose a full symphony. It was performed by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in London way back in 1993. He has been awarded the National Film Award as many as four times and is also a recipient of Padma Bhushan, one of the highest civilian honors in India. Ilayaraja is also known for the versatility of his work. Over the last decade, many of his compositions were music not meant for films but religious and devotional genre. He even ventured into world music. Ilayaraja is also credited for the successful integration and fusion between folk music of Tamil Nadu and musical sensibilities of the Western civilization. This revolutionized the music of the South Indian film industry. Some of his songs are also listed as one of the most popular songs worldwide.
