The winners of the big awards

The surprise winner was Shatamanam Bhavati, the film that bagged the award for Best Wholesome Entertainment Film. The award statement mentioned that the film was successful in providing a sense of jubilation among everyone by putting the trust back to family values in a manner that remains unique till now. The film, despite having a star-studded cast, has gained a lot of attention because of its brilliant script. It is also made on a small budget of 8 crores, focusing on the joint family.

However, the most applauded film of Tollywood this year, Janatha Garage, was also a significant name in National Awards. Starring NTR, the film helped Raju Sundaram win the award for best choreography for the beautiful song Pranamam. The jury acclaimed the performance from NTR as visually appealing and praised his grace while dancing. Mohan Lal, one of the major characters of the film, also shined brightly as he was the recipient of the special jury award. Unlike the other film, it had quite a high budget of 40 crores.

The best film

In the Telugu industry, the award for the best film in the national area went to Pellichoopulu with its director Tharun Bhascker getting the award of best dialogues. However, the point to note is that all these films have been financially successful, at times blockbusters. Not only does it show the quality of Telugu films to gain critical praise as well as box-office success, but also shows the high taste of Tollywood audience. In the coming years, Tollywood will have to bear the burden of more expectation after such a brilliant performance at national awards.
