Rumors were flying that Shriya Saran will be a part of the much awaited Baahubali : The Conclusion. Many reports suggested that she will be playing the role of the wife of Bhallaladeva, King of Mahishmati and the chief antagonist of the Baahubali films. The character is played by Rana Daggubati. The reports also stated that an extravagant marriage scene had also been shot.

However, Shriya was in New Delhi to appear in the Amazon India Fashion Week. She walked on the ramp for Kanika Saluja and also interacted with various media personnel later. On hearing the rumors about her marriage to Rana’s character in the film, she laughingly cleared the air and stated that the she is not a part of the project and has not been approached by the makers of the film either. Rumors also suggested that Lavanya Tripathi and Trisha were about to be roped in for the role however they denied such rumors as well. Eventually Rana himself clarified that his character Bhallaladeva has no time or scope for romancing any heroine as he is too preoccupied with his throne. He added that the role of the wife of Bhallaladeva has no scope or contribution in the story and if it did, the makers of the film would announce it openly and not hide from the media.

Shriya Saran said, however, that she loved the first installment of the Baahubali series and would love to play any role in the film. The shooting process of the second installment is going on at a rapid pace and Prabhas and Anushka Shetty have already rejoined the team and are working tirelessly. Rana Daggubati is yet to join the film to play out his role as he is busy with other commitments at present. Many enthusiasts and fans of the film have predicted that only after Rana joins the shooting process, the actress who would play his wife would be determined. Rana mentioned that his avatar in the second film will be even more menacing and evil than how it was in the first installment and the actor has already undergone severe, hardcore workout and physical drill sessions to bulk his physique up for the role. The film will take off from where it ended in Baahubali: The Beginning and will show how Shiva avenges his father, the great warrior Baahubali who was murdered.
