I’ve become more responsible after ‘Mahanati’, says Keerthy Suresh

Keerthy Suresh has been the subject of constant trolls and memes due to her initial career choices of movies like Remoor Thodari. But this entire scenario changed after she portrayed the role of the legendary actress Savitri in the Telugu biopic Mahanati. It proved to be a career-defining change in her life as the film and her excellent performance was being successfully praised by critics, movie lovers, fellow artists, and audiences. The actress received an opportunity to play such an intense character and get a creative space in a commercial movie which helped her in giving her best to the role.

The film follows the tragic life story of the iconic actress Savitri showcasing the various events and downfall in her career and life. Keerthy Suresh states that she has learned a lot from the life story of Savitri. It has made her realize the importance of family and friends in life and made her aware of the fact that the entertainment industry can at times isolate one from their actual world. She further says that she does want to repeat the same mistakes committed by the actress Savitri during the course of her life. All these factors have contributed to the actress being very cautious about choosing her future roles in the movies.

The actress mentioned that shooting for the movies Mahanati and Sandakozhi 2 together was very draining for her as the characters portrayed by her in both of them were stark dissimilar. While one role was more emotionally exhausting, the other one was somewhat relaxing which helped her in coping up with both of them very efficiently at the same time. The 25-year-old actress says that her career in the future would be equally inclined towards commercial cinema and heroine-oriented roles in the movies as both of them will offer her an equal opportunity to bring out her creativity and give her best performance.
